1. How do I check-in?
  • Check-in is at our office, located at:

1028 Grand Avenue
Grand Lake, CO 80447

2.  How do I check-in for a Granby property?
  •  For those homes that don't require a physical check-in at our office, you will receive the code to access your home and the address of the property the day of check-in when the home is ready or by 4pm.
3. What time is Check-in?
  • Check-in time is 4 PM for all homes.

4.  What time is check-out?
  • Check-out is 10am for all homes. If you have not vacated by 10am, you could be charged an additional day. 
5. What if I arrive after 5pm?
  • For late check-ins please call or email us by 3:00pm on the day of your arrival.  You willl receive late check-in information via text and email

Misc FAQ
6.  Do you offer longterm rentals?
  • We do not offer or manage long term rentals.  We offer short term rentals only - 29 days or less at the nightly rate. 
7.  Do you sell homes?
  • We do not sell homes
8.  Do you manage homes that do not short term rent on your program?
  • No
8.  Do you offer less services for lower commission?
  • No, we are a full service management company
9.  Do I need 4 wheel drive, all wheel drive or chains? (4x4) (AWD)
  • Yes! During the winter months (October - April) 4 wheel or all wheel drive is required to traverse mountain passes as well as most driveways and county roads. If your car is not equipped with either, you should purchase chains and know how correctly install them if needed. 
10. Will roads and driveways be plowed when I arrive/depart throughout my stay?
  • Roads and driveways are plowed when between 4-6 inches of snow has fallen.  With major storms, please keep in mind that plowing services could be backlogged and will be completed as soon as possible. GMR is not responsible for the plowing of any major interstates, highways or county roads. We control driveway plowing only. 
11. Are all walkways and stairs shoveled when it snows?
  • Most homes do have scheudled snow shoveling services and all homes are equppied with snow shovels.  Snow shoveling follows the same scheudle as plowing and is scheudled when 4-6 inches of new snow has fallen. With major storms, please keep in mind that shoveling services could be backlogged and will be completed as soon as possible.  

12. What if my vehicle gets stuck in the snow?
  • Please call a local towing company. Petes Towing and Alpine Towing both offer these services. GMR is not responsible for recovering or paying for stuck vehicles under any circmumstances. 

Travel Tips for High Altitide and Mountain Weather Conditions
  • Altitude- Grand Lake is at an altitude of 8,300' with the National Parks Mountains reaching 12,000'
  • If you have health issues please check with your doctor before making the trip
  • You will become dehydrated quicky and it is important to drink a lot of water
  • The sun is extremely strong and sunscreen is highly recommended
  • Check Weather & Road Conditions Prior To Arrival!
  • Access through Rocky Mountain Nation Park is Closed November - May (Memorial Day opening is always weather permitting)
  • 4WD or AWD is Highly Recommended in Winter Months. Front Wheel Drive vehicles should absolutely carry chains. 
  • *In the mountains weather can change very abrubtly , please plan ahead as we cannot accomdate weather related refunds*
What To Expect When You Arrive In Your Home
  • Linens - The beds will be made with cleans sheets, clean towels & washcloths will be provided for each guest.
  • Kitchen - The kitchen will have dishes, glasses, cookware, hand towels and dish cloths and utensils.
  • Most home have coffee pots, blenders, microwave and toaster.
  • Spices are not provided but most homes have basic spices, while others might have a full supply or array of spices available.
  • Grills - Most homes have gas grills with propane provided. Propane refills are available by contacting management.
  • Supplies for your stay - Grand Mountain Rentals provides a “starter set” of paper products. (2-3 days supply)
  • Typically a full roll of paper towels for the kitchen and a few extra rolls of toilet paper for the bathrooms.
  • Dish Soap & Dishwasher Detergent, Liquid Hand Soap and Hotel size bar Soap for bathing.
  • *You may want bring additional paper products or you can purchase them in town*
  • WIFI or Cable TV- Not all homes have WIFI or Cable/Sat TV, check home descriptions.
  • We cannot guarantee the quality or the connection of TV or Internet Service because of our mountain location.
  • Air Conditioning - Our homes do not have air conditioning as our altitude is above 8,000 feet and night time temperatures cool down into the 50s. Please partake in Rocky Mountain AC and open the windows!
